Overview ofThe Church of God |
Rooted in Historical Commitment
From our humble beginnings in 1903 to the great successes in ministry and service of subsequent decades, The Church of God has always been dedicated to the premise of renewal of authentic New Testament Christianity and restoration of the Bible church – a commitment both to truth and to people.
Over the years, progressive steps and organizational reformations have produced the restoration of many doctrines, practices, and ministries of the New Testament Church that had been lost during the Middle Ages. As a result of our history we have come to our present condition of restored truth and ministry to people.

God's Seventh Day Sabbath:An Everlasting Sign With HIS Chosen People |
Ask most people which day is God’s Sabbath and they will answer, “Sunday is the Lord’s Day.” The truth of the matter is that there is rampant confusion and misinformation concerning God’s Sabbath. How did such confusion arise? One thing is certain–God did not author it. The truth is that Satan has engineered a master plan to divert God’s people from the truths and blessings of the 7th Day Sabbath of the Lord. It’s time that we–as the children of God–unmask Satan’s plot to rob us of this special day. <Read More...> |

Calling sinners to repentance and Christians to action.
The Church of God is committed to global evangelism through personal witnessing, beginning in every member’s neighborhood. We are also called to awaken Christians throughout the world and to call them to action and service for God.
Holding forth the Word of Life.
“No Lawbook but the Bible” has been our motto for over thirty years. The church is commissioned to shine the light of the word of life in the midst of a world of darkness and to establish God’s people in the sound doctrine, present truth, and divine revelation of His Word.
Urging believers to be equipped for ministry.
Every believer in Christ is called to a ministry, a work of service in the kingdom of God. The five-gifted ministry of the church is commissioned to equip believers for ministry and service so that the body of Christ may be built up.
Restoring authentic New Testament Christianity.
Every aspect of the life and mission of the New Testament church is just as vital to the church today as it was in the first century. We remain committed, therefore, to a full restoration of authentic New Testament Christianity.
Claiming the Judaic heritage of the Christian Church.
The faith that Jesus authored has a firm Judaic heritage. Since Jesus did not destroy that heritage, we are certain that the praise, worship, and service of the church today must reflect the same heritage of Judaeo-Christianity that the early church taught.
Heralding the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ.
The ultimate purpose of the church today is to prepare for the coming Kingdom of Jesus Christ. We have a strong commitment to proclaiming the fact that Jesus Christ will return from heaven to establish His millennial kingdom upon earth.
Children mimic what they see. If a parent brings up their child in Christ, that child shall follow Christ wherever He goes. Ephesians 6:4 states "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."
The Ten Commandments also says to "honor thy father and thy mother". A child will honor the teachings of those who taught them.

The Spirit of Evangelism is the one of the Seven Spirits of God that is concerned with keeping believers aflame with the Holy Spirit. Evangelism is responsible for stirring us up and keeping us from becoming lukewarm. While it is understood by most Christians to be a soul-saving Spirit, it also is to keep believers on fire for God.
KEY TEXT: "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spew thee out of my mouth” (Revelation 3:16).
1. The Spirit of Evangelism is closely related in nature to the ministerial gift of evangelist. To give
greater definition to the work of evangelism, Consider the fact that the gift of evangelism was given
“for the perfecting of saints” (Ephesians 4: 11-12). See how this job description expands upon
traditional views of evangelism.
2. For further clarification of the nature of evangelism's work, consider II Timothy 4:1-5, where Paul
instructs in the work of the ministry, then concludes by enjoining Timothy to "do the work of an
evangelist."
3. When evangelism is not working, Christians grow lukewarm in their personal experience with God
and in their relationship with the church. Analyze the condition of the Laodicean church in
Revelation 3:17. Compare the statement of Revelation 3:18, "anoint thine eyes with eye salve"
with the nature and work of evangelism. Notice also the imperative of verse 19, "Be zealous."
How does evangelism help us to possess and express the zeal of the Lord of hosts?
4. An important part of the work of evangelism is the stirring up of the memory of God's people to
the truths of the Scriptures and the operation of the Holy Spirit. Consider this purpose in light of II
Peter 3:1-2.
5. Some of the more far-reaching implications of the ministry of evangelism can be seen in the life and work of Philip, the evangelist of the Early Church. Consider Acts 8:5-13, 29-30, 40. Consider the manner in which the Spirit of Evangelism works through revival to keep us up-to-date spiritually.
